We have a simple method for blocking unwanted HTML tags, and this will in due course be adjustable to take into account the level of trust accorded various kinds of user. For now all HTML comments get filtered out, thereby blocking all the complexities that can be harboured therein, we commonly, although not uniformly, block post which inappropriately attempt to embed <BODY> tags, and we are gradually building traps for things like unpaired quotes within tags.

I envisage a future in which a forum member will be able to have minimal restrictions on what they include in an "about me" thread that could form a practical alternative to a personal Web site.
