I have been fortunate to have a role in the final design and initial publication of Joan's and my friend Heather Vicenti's autobiography Too Many Tears which Carmen Lawrence is launching in Fremantle tomorrow evening, Thursday, 15th May 2008.

Yesterday I drove Heather and the 15 year old orphaned granddaughter she cares for at 72 to (re)visit the Seven Hills Mission at Roelands in West Australia's beautiful southwest which was Heather's home from six to sixteen as a member of the stolen generation. Heather's time at Roelands is the first focus of the book.

The book can be ordered online from SeekBooks.com.au with more information on the book website, the completion of which was delayed by some more immediate priorities which followed Joan's death.
