| After too long slipping too fast down the elderly slope, finally there is cause for hope in a new generation. Even my rare visits to see my father in Narre Warren make unsurprising some neighbour's overreaction. (Singular possessive intentional.) The police overreaction might be more troubling but is even less surprising as they struggle for relevance in this minimal crime state alongside the deserving claims of nurses for us coming elderly and teachers because we still haven't the wit to come up with an alternative to industrial-scale schooling to keep youngsters as far from sight as workers. (That the cops would even think of playing their kiddie porn joker for revenge against teen partiers shows how much Mullett v Nixon has distracted them from their once honourable intentions, but that is getting us off track here.) Back to our hero in the yellow-framed sunglasses, it really doesn't matter how long he is able to string out his already far beyond 15 minutes of fame. What matters is his virulent message to every other teen on the planet: you can do it too. |
